Our partner ITSASKORDA has just finished processing the recycled monofilaments obtained in the project and the outcome has been better than expected. A total of 200 m polyamide and 400 m of polyolefin ropes have been manufactured from recycled local fishing and aquaculture sectors. In the forthcoming days, the ropes will be machined seeded and once ready, they will be fixed to Matxitxako Moluskoak S.L.’s offshore mussel culture site, located in the SE Bay of Biscay, to test their performances as ongrowing ropes. These ropes are a good example of how circularity can be implemented in the fishing and aquaculture sectors.
