The ISMS is a biannually meeting venue organized by six Spanish universities for researchers and experts to present and gain exposure about the results and findings of their projects in the field of Marine Sciences. This edition took place online between 1st and 3rd of July 2020 given the global situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. BLUENET joined this event with an oral contribution in the workshop BAMAR 2020, presenting the work done during the first year of the project. Within in thematic area “Solutions for marine litter pollution”, our colleague Oihane C. Basurko explained to the participants the work done so far regarding the recovery, recycling and manufactured tasks of longline ropes. During the presentation entitled “Second chance for fishing and aquaculture gears” and the subsequent discussion, Oihane had the chance to exchange opinions and knowledge with other participants and European co-funded projects representatives such as NetTag.

It was a pleasure to take part in the workshop BAMAR 2020 to spreading the achievements of BLUENET since marine litter topic was presented at the meeting for the first time in the history of ISMS 2020.
