BLUENET team visited the port of Bermeo with the aim of making a visual examination of the types of the discarded nets and their current storage facilities and practices. Bermeo port is devoted to inshore fishing activities so polyamide nets are mainly generated, which is one of the target materials to be recycled within the BLUENET project.
Thanks to this visit, we have started the characterization of the type of materials generated by fishing ports and fishing activities, that will be further analysed on the following stages of the project!
