125 kg of ALDFG trawling net recovered and well managed thanks to the collaboration between MATER Museoa and BLUENET

As part of the awareness raising campaign #ZeroZaborUretan, the retrofitted F/V Barco Museo Ecoactivo Mater (www.matermuseoa.com/ collected this lost trawling net that was found floating in the coastal waters of the Basque Country, near the municipality of Deba, at the end of July 2020

In view of the difficulties and obstacles faced by the Mater Museoa to manage this net in ports that were not engaged in the Fishing for Litter initiativethe Mater Museoa (through the Zero Zabor Uretan Campaign) and BLUENET joined forces to find a solution. As a result, the net has been incorporated to the Fishing for Litter waste stream established in the project BLUENET in the fishing port of Hondarribia. Click here to see net landing!
